Claridge’s brasserie an art deco crown jewel in the Claridge’s hotel, a fusion of historical art deco and contemporary dining, demanded a sensitive lighting design approach that wouldn’t detract from its past.
Inspired by bespoke carpets and mosaic floors, we subtly unveiled lost art deco features using archival photos including Illuminated glass architraves around kitchen doors and illuminated niches and cornices around the bar area which have become mesmerizing centrepieces within the space.
Bespoke pendants, inspired by Joseph Hoffman, whispered Claridge’s spirit with tassels echoing its design. The back bar’s brass shelves and hand-cast glass, edge-lit to provide unexpected light to the bottles and an added a touch of magic.
Pin spots and picture lights provide controlled accent to tables, art, and sculpture within niches. Tuneable white stained glass skylights incorporate tuneable white light sources which mimic natural daylight for a cooler colour during the day and a warmer colour later in the evening.
