Gordon Ramsay’s
Petrus Restaurant – Knightsbridge
Working with Russell Sage Studio concepts were put together to convert the ground floor of these purpose built apartments on Kinnerton Street into a contemporary restaurant. The interior hails back to ocean liner chic oozing opulent style focusing around a central feature wine store housing the famous Petrus fine wine constructed of glass from floor to ceiling.

Gordon Ramsays brief was to create intimate dining experiences which are accentuated by an almost candle light environment. This candle lit interior was particularly difficult to achieve due to the stringent low energy regulations which at the time called for 25% fluorescent or LED luminaires which emit a cooler light source than was required. The wine store also proved to be a challenging brief as all light sources incorporated would not be accessible once installed so a fibre optic light solution was used with remote light sources set within 10m of the furthest luminaire.
